SQ JFK Freighter Ops

Tue Sep 11, 2007 7:10 am

Not too long back, SQ used to have 5 weekly freighters ex: JFK to SIN

SQ7993 JFK/BRU/SHJ/SIN (?) --------
SQ7995 JFK/BRU/KWI/SIN (?) --------
SQ7997 JFK/BRU/DXB/SIN (?) Day 1

I wasnt sure about the last 3, I know they had a Wednesday/Thursday freighter.. not 100% which day it was though, or maybe it was both.

My question is, why did SQ drop these freighters? I know their DXB freighters were doing very well, as well as their DEL freighter. I think the KWI freighter was used by the US government (?) but they also used to carry regular cargo on it.

Please clarify the routings if you can, Im not so sure about it

As of now, the only freighter that operates is:

SQ7989 used to operate until recently I believe, but instead of going Eastbound, they operated that freighter with JL routing it JFK/ANC(?)/NGO/SIN on Day 5. I think that freighter produced very little revenue for them, because any freight for SIN and beyond would be pushed towards that freighter because they seemed to always have the space to accomodate.

Please clarify.

There is no sport equal to that which aviators enjoy while being carried through the air on great white wings. - Wilbur
