CO BusinessFirst Deep Discounts For Holidays

Tue Sep 11, 2007 12:39 pm

Something I've not seen them do before, but CO has started a BF sale for the holidays, and the fares are better than the summer sales.

I guess that even though these are the busiest travel periods of the year, they aren't often booked in Business class, so it's a way to get those seats filled and sell more Y seats at the same time.

They tend to do this yearly (see flyertalk.com). Not sure about the Thanksgiving dates, however the Xmas and New Year holiday period for the last couple years. Similarly BA offers some deep discounts on business class seats during the holidays.

I guess I never recalled the thanksgiving dates before, and I think the prices are lower this year. Roundtrip EWR-BRU at thanksgiving is $1150 including taxes. Not a bad price at all...

Doesn't surprise me, most Americans are traveling domestically at Thanksgiving, not internationally. I've been on a DC-10 departing for London the night before Thanksgiving with only 35 on board.

This is typically done by all the airlines over the holiday periods.....CO does the bizfirst thing on flights to Europe in the past years (similiar bargains are not available going ex-Europe, however). As stated, there is not much biz travel on the flights over the holiday periods and is a way to tempt leisure pax to sit upfront. Note that the seats are very limited.

Well, it might convince me to go to europe for the new year. I'll get some nice elite quallie points to start the year.

Suggestion: make you decision quickly, the inventory is limited and is quickly sold at this fare level. Regards.

who knows if there even were fares available on 11-21 on all flights. They gave a range of dates, but 11-21 is the busiest day of the year in the USA, so even with the EU routes, one would expect them to be full compared to 11-20 or 11-22.
