Sukhoi Sees High Demand For VIP-version Of Superje

Fri Sep 14, 2007 6:58 pm

Quote:
"I would like to say there is a certain interest in the VIP version, most of all in the Russian market," says Sukhoi Holding president Mikhail Pogosyan.

Contacts have already been established with potential buyers for up to 20 aircraft, he says, "but it is only as a start because we appreciate general sales of the VIP version [will be] as high as 100 units".

Easy to see why Fairchild-Dornier had been so active to develop the Envoy7 and Envoy 9 versions of the 728Jet and 928Jet - the market segment is there.

Russia is surely a big market for VIP planes. Its the middle class product that has problems there, not the premium. Sukhoj might be even conservative in their estimation.

Everything will depend on the [boeing] marketing of the jet and how they resolve low-hanging engines problem. Beyond SVO, DME, VKO or LED heck knows what may be sucked in from those runways on landings or takeoffs.

The cabin-width, range and price will certainly make it attractive to a lot of people.

Is the 75 the base model for the VIP version? Anybody know the range of the Superjet VIP?

Here is a link to another article from yesterday on the Sukhoi.

Sorry if I deviate too much from the subject, but i thought that with the collectivization of the aircraft firms into United Aircraft Corporation, the projects under UAC would have a UAC denomination from now on, including future projects. But for what it's looking now to be, UAC acts as parent company as is EADS over Airbus. Am I right?

Sukhoi SuperJet looks really attractive as a platform for Business Jet. Taking into consideration that the queue for Boeing's Business Jet and Airbus' Corporate Jet is logged for years ahead while Sukhoi has lots of open slots.

Yes, 75 model is better for beign turned into Business Jet by approximately the same reason: All the SSJ's orders are for 95 version so far.
