Do you think Continental would do this? Contiental Airlines Field or Continental Airlines Park maybe ?
It's possible, however I think this is way more likely.
Construction just got underway on a new Football stadium at the Meadowlands for the Jets and Giants, the new stadium (completion set for 2010) will have it's naming rights sold as the Jets no longer wish to play at a stadium named for another NFL team (Giants Stadium). The new Stadium will be the most expensive stadium in the US and the only stadium to host two NFL franchises, it's in the New York market so having naming rights on a NFL stadium that is in the New York Market and hosts twice as many home games as any other NFL stadium means it's a great advertising oppurtunity as the National media coverage will be double average stadiums. Also keep in mind with the new Prudential Center (the Rock) opening in Downtown Newark next month which will host the NHL Jersey Devils and "possibly" the NBA Nets, CO
decided to end their sponsorship of the Arena at the Meadowlands formerly known as the "Continental Airlines Arena". The name will stay on the arena until some other sponsorship name is worked out or the building demolished.
Besides the NFL Jets/Giants stadium potential naming rights there's also one other lucrative sports venue under construction in the New York market that gets huge National Media attention, in 2009 the New York Yankees will move into a new stadium under construction across the street from the current Yankee stadium. The Yankees are selling naming rights however the name "New Yankees Stadium" must be in the name, you might "New Yankees Stadium at Continental Airlines Field" etc..
Continental Airlines is the Official Airline of the New York Football Giants and the New York Yankees.
