What Happens With Flightblogger.blogspot.com?

Sat Sep 22, 2007 4:12 pm

Hi,

since today morning, only invited persons can read http://flightblogger.blogspot.com.

What is the reason? Pressure from Boeing?

Bernhard

Imaginable but then forcing the blog to go offline would do more harm to Boeing's public image then the information that has been leaked there.

For sure this is pressure from Boeing, shows that the problems maybe worse than the execs are letting on.

I suspect it is more likely the editor getting tired of dealing with the garbage that was being left in the comments.

Dear A.netters,

At 12:01 AM Saturday on the East Coast I had to close Flightblogger. For personal reasons, I cannot share the exact reason why I am discontinuing the blog and I hope you will respect that. However, there will much speculation as to why the site is no longer available and I want to be sure to set the record straight to prevent rumors.

I want to make one thing abundantly clear:

The site is not closing because of any influence from inside the aviation industry, this includes The Boeing Company.

There is still much we don't know about the future of the 787 program and I do hope that a complete and accurate picture of this aircraft is given a chance to come to light. I want to thank each of you for your support and encouragement over these last several months.

I will still be around, and I will still be looking at this airplane closely. The public phase of Flightblogger is over, for now. I am not sure how long this hiatus will be, however, I do hope it will be brief. At which time I am able to publish again, I intend to relaunch Flightblogger in an even more comprehensive form than it exists today.

Onward,

Something went wrong not only with Flight Blogger. Matt Cawby removed all pictures from his flickr's account as well. I believe thousands of us have been enjoying his marvelling plane photos but they're all gone now. Sad

Hopefully, both resources will recover soon.

WHAT does this mean? - What are you trying to tell us?
I have been very confident about the development, and even the the latest "delays" has not worried me much, but comments like this from "inside" makes me worry - what do you think dear A-netters - do I have to?

Dear IAD787 i wish you all the best. I will hope you will give us some new reports about 787 here at Airliners.net.

Which source in WWW is coming next to Flightblogger.blogspot.com?

Which hints will the experts here on A.net give me?

Not tired at all. I was just getting warmed up. Just had to close it down for a little. It will be back, not to worry.

I'm still working:

Jon, many thanks for the detail and passion that you put into your updates. I very much look forward to your re-opening!  bouncy

If first flight is still planned between 11/15 and 12/15, the 787 will go from power-on to first flight in a matter of one (?!?) to six weeks...  scratchchin  whereas the 777 took roughly 20 weeks for the same.

Your dedication and contribution towards the 787 program has not gone unnoticed. Hopefully you will soon resolve all issues and continue to provide us with all the wonderfully detailed information.

Could you please elaborate more on this point or are you limited, as to what can be shared publicly?

So that's between 31 October - 7 November? It seems that this faze is still behind schedule.

WingedMigrator, you brought up a very good point in which I also have serious doubts. I fail to see how Boeing will manage to do this is in such a short time period. From what we have seen on previous programs, I would say that the 787 will only take to the skies in early 2008.

Flightblogger will be missed, even if it is temporary and it comes back up online... Thing is, in times of uncertaintity information is most valued, regarding the B787 the blog was a great source of info... I would just love to see what the "conspiration theory" supporters have to say about this.

Not trying to stir the pot, but it sounds scary to me...

Good luck IAD787, you where doing a helluva job, we will look forward to read your updates and reports...

Like the 747 and the A380, the 787 story will likely make one heck of an interesting book.

I smell a bandwidth issue here. The site was really popular (rightfully so) and got a ton of hits. Blogspot probably had a heart attack over this and came ofter IAD787 for it. Just speculation but plausible speculation. Jon, get your own server and tell 'em to take a leap!  Silly
Here's wishing you and the future of Flightblooger well.  Smile
