AirAsia X: Route Ancnmnt & Selling Ticket This Fri

Tue Sep 25, 2007 10:33 pm

Well, that's the theory. Theory? It has been off-on, on-off for a while now with very little information, so it might not happen on Fri.

It's expected - but not confirmed - that X will fly 4x weekly to Avalon, near Melbourne, and to China, probably Hangzhou or Tianjin, five-weekly.

It will initially use 1x 330 that was delivered to KUL last week.

Finally! I have been wondering myself what's up with the lack of information not least because they initially wanted to commence flying in October 2007...that's kind of soonish and nothing is on the website, yet.
Future flights: CPH-BOS; CPH-SVG; CPH-PVG-HKG-MNL-DVO; CPH-CDG; CPH-NRT; CPH-MIA; CPH-PVG

Fingers crossed for a UK service soon, wouldn't mind a cheap way of getting to KUL, even if it is in 9 abreast config on the A333  crowded

I suspect it will be Gold Coast and not Avalon as reported

As soon as I saw this thread, I said to myself it was only a matter of time before Aussie_ replied. Now that my prediction came true, I think it will be only a matter of days before he posts a message saying that he has bought a ticket to KUL with AirAsia X.
Next flights: MEX-LAX AM 738, LAX-PVG DL 77L, SHA-PEK CA 789, PEK-PVG CA A332, PVG-ORD MU 77W, ORD-MEX AM 738

There has been a rumor that they are looking at some of the Japanese airports to break into that market. Once outside of TYO, the prices are much lower for landing which might be good for them. Airports like NGO have been talking qith LCC in Asia and offering incentives to start service. But on the other side there are other destinations like Kitakyushu also looking to attract LCCs. If AirAsia X flew into Kitakyushu, they could hook up with Starflyer for connecting access to HND and KIX.
Yes...I am not a KIX fan. Let's Japanese Aviation!

Not meant to be until late 2008 now... Sad
