XJet At LGB Route Announcement This Week?

Wed Sep 26, 2007 4:19 am

I had heard that ExpressJet would announce its new LGB routes yesterday but it appears nothing has happened yet.

Anyone know the day for the planned announcement?

Nope. Over on XEPilots they're too busy taking about XE buying CO....

I'd expected a SBA announcement today. That's about the worst kept secret at the moment.

You're still holding your breath on FAT-LGB? FF, I'd better call in the paramedics, I'm gettin' worried. Seriously, you're getting a little blue in the face. Yea, I want a Jet Blue code share too, but, you're going to great lengths here to show your support for Baby Blue to LGB.

LOL, no just curious about what will happen at LGB, with or without FAT. The rumor is a November start for whatever routes they announce out of LGB.

Vision Air is supposed to also announce flights out of LGB soon, also with a November start. I heard they may still do Merced and/or Visalia with or without EAS support.

And there is a rumor Vision Air wants to do LGB to the Mammoth area. I'm trying to figure out how many sets of skis they can get into a Brasilia.

FF, good to see you're not holding your breath anymore....

The one I'm watching is whether Gamblers Express hooks up with Xjet into RNO. They're already running charters from LGB to TVL, and they're always in and out of FAT and MRY.... Just trying to think outside the box. Maybe LGB, MRY, FAT to RNO? Nah....

Jet Blue codeshare? Nah.... Good stuff like that doesn't happen to FAT.

If I were Xjet, I'd want to cover So Cal with more options. ONT is too far East and I-10 is one big parking lot. LGB to TUS, ABQ, and ? Where can't you go nonstop from SNA, that may be the answer to your question.

You're right, I was trying to type and carry on a conversation with my wife at the same time. I guess I was paying more attention to her.  Wink

I figure why hold my breath on just a codeshare. I might as well behave like a typical a.netter and say that JetBlue or Virgin America should start flights to FAT.  Silly

If they can get a bunch of slots, operating out of LGB might just turn into a spiffy niche market for them. I could actually see that making sense.

..Xjet's press conference in SBA is on October 8, so that may a clue. I'd expect they'll announce the new markets one at a time as done previously over a couple of days...

I'm hoping for MRY (obviously, its plus one cheap flight to the LA area for me, with connections to B6), FAT, RNO, and perhaps some more regional california destinations. SCK is one great underdeveloped market only served by G4 at this time that XE could probably do well in.

I hope that in general XE begins to move flights away from ONT and to LGB, because I think they are realizing that ONT is just to far away from downtown LA to gain traffic going to that area.

Needless to say, I will be waiting for my email notification from XE on these new routes!  Big grin
