Laptop Power Trans-Atlantic

Thu Sep 27, 2007 1:45 am

Hey guys, getting ready to get a ticket to go trans-Atlantic from the US to western Europe. Which US based carriers supply laptop power ports trans-Atlantic? And, which aircraft / seat class / and type of power port is supplied?

Thanks much!

I don't think any, at least in Y.
You might always try to go back by the galley and use the power there if OK by FA's.

have a look a airlines who have a premium economy product, BA does....you'll have to pay quite abit more for the privilege, but if the connection is necessary then I'd go for BA, there are other European carriers, not sure who....

hope this helps,

CO have it on some rows, the link tells you what rows depending on the aircraft type:

Northwest does in WBC and in the first half of economy on the A330's. They are worldwide adaptors (no need to bring your own adaptor). The 744's are WBC only. The NW seats just use your regular plug regardless of where you are from in the world.

www.seatguru.com will show you who has inflight power and where. More carriers have it then you'd think.

Good to know, here is the comparison chart:

United Airlines has in some seats.

American Airlines has on all business class seats and in some economy seats on the 767 and just about all seats on the 777.

I don't think Delta provides power in Economy.

If you absolutely have to work on the flight, make sure your battery is fully charged and that you have a fully charged spare. On 3 out of my last 5 long haul AA flights, the power ports were not working. I checked with the FAs and there was nothing they could do.
