AC SXM Schedule - After Dark!

Sun Sep 30, 2007 3:46 am

AC has changed its SXM operating times for the upcoming winter schedule from a late afternoon arrival/departure to an evening after dark arrival/departure - it will now arrive at 7 pm and depart at 8.15 pm. I am scheduled to fly down on Jan 26, when sunset as just after 6, so all my plans to have a good window seat for the flights may be meaningless. (Which reminds me of the last time I flew this route - sat in Row 13 on the 763 and as has been pointed out on other threads, that row has no window.) The AC website seating plan also indicates a switch from ex AC 763s to ex CPs (based on the business class configuration), but as has also been discussed in many threads, this could (and likely will) change. Does anyone know why the schedule change?

Aircraft scheduling will be very tight this fall/winter particularly on the 763's as up to 3 767-300 aircraft will be undergoing XM uplifts concurrently.

On the upside, instead of the usual early departure/return schedule which effectively breaks up two days, you have a full day of fun in the sun on your last day.
