Conroy CL44-0! Will She Ever Fly Again?

Mon Oct 01, 2007 7:04 am

Conway Cl-44-O Guppy (Cn16)
The only ever guppied cl-44
I seen this aircraft many years ago. Fling for heavylift
I always considered cl-44 one of the most beautiful aircraft ever.
The Cl-44-0 was a great modification.
They (two) used to fly into Dub daily in the 80's (Aer Turas) Aer Lingus Cargo.
Cl-44-0 was stored in boumemouth for years & I believe was due to fly again with a company in the
Philippines.
Will any CL-44 fly again (even the 44-0)?
Could they fly again (parts & economics)?

Conroy CL44-0! Will She Ever Fly Again?

Conway Cl-44-O Guppy (Cn16)

Minor correction -- it was Conroy Aviation (not Conway) that did the CL-44 "Guppy" conversion. I believe only one was converted. If not mistaken they planned to convert another but the intended aircraft was written off in an accident before any work was done.

Thanks, my mistake.
