A SAS B 737 Performance At The Sola Airshow 2007

Fri Oct 05, 2007 10:18 pm

The clip is from Sola Airshow 2007 when an airliner from the scandinavian airline SAS perform special stunts. This is not how norwegian airplanes normally fly...  Smile

Sola Airport in stavanger, Norway, celebrated it's 70 years of operations this year. The airport was the second to have a concrete runway in Europe. it's Norway's oldest airport, started up in 1937.

High and slow?  Wink (Only kidding.) Nice video.

Now why can't Boeing do that themselves at airshows?
I love ASO!

Yeah why doesn't Boeing do more exciting stuff like that. Of course, I'd really like to see them barrel roll a 737, and maybe fly it inverted past the crowds at an airshow. Whats the probability of that?

0 as Sandro said. A commercial airliner is not a fighter jet. There is no way you could fly one inverted for an extended period of time without a serious risk of an accident. Barrell roll won't happen either. Tex Johnston will probably be the only one in history to intentionally roll a commercial airliner. If Boeing were to crash an aircraft doing something stupid at an airshow and potentially kill scores of spectators, the backlash would be enormous.

The commentators are funny.

They comment something like this:

" We have now gotten information that there sits a 78 year old scared lady in the back lavatory, She forgot to disembark when the plane was on the ground the last time.. "

" Well she gets a ride for her money "
