Skywest Jet Bird Strike At DIA

Fri Oct 12, 2007 7:53 pm

Didn't see anything on this, but it just happened. The Skywest jet already landed safely...no word on what exactly happened...and no details other than what I posted.

This is probably such a non issue I don't even know why its being posted. Bird Strikes happen all the time out there, and usually after wiping the stuff off the wing and a quick inspection, the plane is oked for service. Every now and then you will get a nasty one, like one I saw of an AA 777 over in Europe. But these are the exception rather than the rule.

Yep bird strikes aren't all that rare. I personally get one every couple months. Call up mx, get it inspected and either cleaned or repaired, and you're good to go.

Lately in the Carolinas our company has experinced a rise in bird strikes. The last one for me was on the leading edge of ship 723 at about 3,000 feet departing Charlotte. We were headded for CVG.
