9W Conspiracy To Sabotage AUS Cricket Team

Mon Oct 15, 2007 11:34 am

Seems the Indians will do anything these days to to try and win a game of cricket.

Shortly after take-off the 9W 737-800 was flown by the crew through a flock of birds necessitating an emergency landing back in Nagpur city, delaying the Australian cricket teams flight to Mumbai.

"Emergency Landing For Plane Carrying Indian, Australian Players
Submitted by Rohit Bhandiye on Mon, 2007-10-15 05:53.

A Jet Airways flight carrying the entire Australian cricket team and a few Indian players made an emergency landing in Nagpur after it was hit by a bird 10 minutes after take off on Monday morning.

Members of Indian team included skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Robin Uthappa, S Sreesanth, Rohit Sharma. Indian bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad and fielding coach Robin Singh were also on the plane.

The plane was heading for Mumbai where both the teams will wrap up the Future Cup Series with their last ODI. All the players were reported to be safe and the plane is likely to take off again in few hours.

Airport director SN Bolkar said that Jet Airways flight no. 9W112 made the emergency landing. He, however, refused to comment on what caused the emergency landing of the plane.

BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla confirmed that Jet Airways would be sending another plane from Mumbai to Nagpur to fetch the players. Shukla also said that the players will be back within few hours.

The rest of the Indian team had already reached Mumbai a day before."

Indeed  Smile I read the title and post and was getting ready to USE A LOT OF CAPS until I came to the end.

Fortunately everyone is fine, and from what the short article states, I don't see any indication of major damage to the AC. I'd be real interested to know where the unfortunate birds met the plane.

I guess after the much hyped Twenty20 triumph, it did not take too much to bring the Indian team down to earth, pun intended, LOL.

Pretty bad planning, considering half the Indian team was on board too...... Big grin

Do they have a policy of not flying the entire team on the same plane and so on....? You know, just in case...
