Double Service To Lax?

Varig flies daily to Japan (3x week to NGO and 4x week to NRT) from São Paulo-GRU via LAX. Recently it has increased its presence in LAX by adding a second daily flight dedicated exclusively to Los Angeles. Being a member of Star Alliance, wouldn't it make more sense to re-route the Japan flights to SFO (Because LAX has more origin and destination traffic), so that Varig could make a profit from flying to an important hub of UA? It makes sense to me!!!

Los Angeles is a much bigger city than San Francicso, so there's more origin/ destination traffic to LAX. I guess there's also more Brazilians living in southern California than in northern California. I hope Varig will fly their 777s here when they get them eventually. Varig's flight to Brazil were always full since VASP stopped flying here and that's why Varig started the second flight. The777Man

United also has a hub in LAX and lots of daily shuttle flights to SFO and the entire west coast.

Does Varig have plans to re-start JFK-GIG nonstop service?
