Air France B747 Classics

Tue Aug 22, 2000 6:31 am

The B747-100/200/300 in the Air France fleet aren't so young anymore. I flew once with a B747-300 and the interior wasn't so good as it is on more modern aircrafts. Does Air France plan to phase out the "Classics"? And if yes, what aircrafts will replace them?

Hello,

There isn't any 747-100 anymore in the Air France's fleet.

Regarding the 747-200s, they would be phased out in favor of 777-300LRs.

These aircraft will soon have totally disappeared from Air France's main network and be operated on the West Indies, which is a leisure market.

Recently Air France has re-newed its offer on these aircraft with a service and cabin in business class which is much like what is offered on classic long-haul flights.

Best regards,
Alain Mengus
