NOTHING!
They're the same thing  Just Boeing couldn't make up it's mind what to call the 777 derivitaves in the early days.

B777-200A=B777-200
B777-200B=B777-200IGW=B777-200ER
B777-200X=B777-200LR
B777-300
B777-300X=B777-300ER

Hope that's clear.

Best Regards

Jet Setter,

Just one correction; the 777-300X will be the 777-300LR. I know the press have been saying ER, and that has been repeated across the internet, but trust me, at the moment, both the new versions will have LR after the numbers. Otherwise, right on!

Thanks for the correction, Hamlet69!

I suppose it makes sense, the 777-200X and -300X will both bear the LR designation, indicating they are different from the rest of the 777 family (ie raked wingtips, only GE engines etc) It also leaves the way open for the B777-300ER as a simple -ER version of the -300 with the same engines as the conventional 777 family.
