ASA Flight Diverted Back To MDW

Sun Oct 21, 2007 5:31 pm

I just found out that ASA flight 4718 from MDW to ATL was diverted back to MDW because that plane had a loss of pressurization after take-off . The reason for this was because the aft cargo door unlached and opened up, 2 pax bags are M.I.A. and the plane is still at the gate getting worked on...

There is a known problem with the CRJ-200 having problems with the cargo door and I was even warned by a trainer to check to make sure the door was closed correctly. If you're not paying attention the door can look closed apparently but I never came across one. I've never heard of it happening on a 700 either.

This would also be the first time that they have loss any bags from the information I have.
