Another one for Dubai.

This is great news. Looks like the Q400 is warming up! This aircraft is also a great fit for IY/Al-Saeeda who have a much more extensive domestic network than other airlines based on the Arabian Peninsula.

Yemenia currently deploys 738s domestically to really small catchment areas. This is a waste of a jet that could be used elsewhere and of course empty seats are bad for the bottom line. I see the Qs being deployed to domestic non-coastal destinations. Namely, Ataq, Seiyun and Taiz. I flew to Taiz from Sana'a and there were as many FAs as pax on that flight!
This will free up 738s to fly to east Africa and South Asia.

Interesting to see that IY has some big expansion plans; it is talking about 10 A350s, versus the two A330s and four A310s now operated; the A350 will be a considerable capacity increase over the A310s.

Here's IY's latest 738, 7O-ADQ:

The arrival of the Dash 8-Q400s will take 738s off domestic routes and release them for more regional ops.

Interesting also to see that the Dash 8 hasn't been too badly affected by the recent grounding; this is the second major order for the type in the past few days.
