I tell you right now, does Brazilians sure know how to build a jet. I absoluetely love the E-Jet series, from the E170-E190, I think that they are one of the best planes out there.  drool

Wow, where have they all gone? Didn't they just get their type certificate last year? That's quite the production ramp-up...300 e-jets in a year!

The E175 has had its certificate for a few years now.

The 170 was certified in 2003 IIRC. First delivery was to XM in early 2004 (I want to say March, but maybe not...)

jetBlue is pushing 31 or 32 E190's.....Republic Air Group has over 100.

Anyone have inside scoop how NWA (or Compass) Management feels about E175?

I wonder if NWA did cost analysis on both E75 and CRJ9.

I just checked NWA Press Release -- I could have sweared they ordered E190 (maybe it was a rumor I read here?). Anyway, in this press release, it stated NWA was able to obtain financial loan for E175LR. Is this LR for Long Range -- flying longer range than E175? I tried looking up Embraser website but many links are not working.

Here's NWA Press Release I'm referring to:

The only thing they have ordered is the 175, the 190 is a rumored DC-9 replacement and an NW insider said the E190 order is imminent.

That would be great to see E-jets flying for NW around 2050.

Yes, there are currently three designations: STD, LR and AR (standard, long range, advanced range).

That is odd. I don't think I have ever had a dead link on that site.

I wonder if NWA did cost analysis on both E75 and CRJ9.

NW did to an in-depth analysis between the E175 & CRJ-900. In the end they decided to go with a split order for several reasons:
1) different route profiles
2) delivery schedule - able to get 72 in a two year period by splitting the order
3) playing the manufacturers off each other for the best deal
4) ability to place at different regional providers

The CR9's are to predominantly at DTW and to a lesser extent MSP & MEM, primarily staying east of the Mississippi.
The E75's with better range economics will be predominantly at MSP and to a lesser extent DTW & MEM, primarily west of the Mississippi.

They are happy with both aircraft. The CR9's have had some initial teething issues, more or less due to the new enhanced features by Bombardier compared to other CR9's. But those things have been worked out now for the most part.

Congrats to NW. E-Jets seem to be on a roll with orders flowing in for them!

I hope NW orders the E190 soon to replace their DC9's. Good luck to Embraer as well- I look forward to seeing what they have up their sleeves next!

None of the above..... I was told by people at Northwest/Compass the reason was just one.

FWIW, US initially did a similar thing with the 70-seaters, basing CR7s at CLT (because less range was needed) and 170s at PHL (and PIT). It seemed to work reasonably well for them.

IS the dispatch reliability of the E-Jets improving at all? How's the fuel burn?
