Grand Hyatt or Westin are the only hotels I have been to and both are great for spotting. Hyatt is on the airport property and the Westin is right below the approach for 17L (you can go on the roof, that is where the pool is).

Maybe the Embassy Suites DFW Airport, or the Holiday Inn Express on the John Carpenter Frwy. For Love, maybe the Holiday Inn Select on Mockingbird.

Founders Plaza currently does not exist. It was removed in a construction project. IIRC they are going to build a viewing area on the northwest corner close to the 18L/R and the UPS ramp. I flew out of DFW Wednesday on AA 2296 using 35L and founders plaza was a big dirt pile.

Heck I live here and didn't even know that, thanks for sharing!!! If you are really interested in seeing some good stuff, try the new Grand Hyatt in Terminal D and ask for a room that faces west. It's an awesome hotel!

Founders Plaza was moved to the NW part of the airport. Off of North Airfield Drive. It is just NE of the Approach to 18L across from the ASR tower. It is temp and will be moved later once they finish the perimeter taxiway.

Yes Founder's Plaza is on West Airfield Drive on the north side of the road, just east of the approach lights to 18L. It's basically across the street and down from the North Shuttle Parking lot, and if you get to Texan Trail redlight, turn around. Look for the picnic tables on top of a hill that's basically lined up with taxiway E.

Without a car, you could take the shuttle to the north shuttle parking, and then walk down the street maybe a quarter mile. It's northwest from the parking lot, across the street and down maybe that far.

The view from a room up high in the Grand Hyatt cannot be beat! Also, the exercise facilities on the roof of the Grand Hyatt have you walking the pool deck or on a treadmill against the glass that is looking down at the DFW ramp.
See, I knew American Eagle was first class all along!
