Today an ELAL 777 (ECB) flying from TLV to JFK as LY007 made an emergency landing at CDG. A passenger had an hearth attack on flight. The flight arrived at 1510 and left at 1600 after some refuelling.

Yikes, bet that set the place on fire nicely.

Seriously though, I hope the passenger survived the incident and goes on to make a full recovery  Smile

Why is this an emergency landing??? This is a rather routine medical diversion. The heart attack was the emergency, not the landing. Does ELAL carry AEDs?

ECB is not lucky: after 2 emergency landings in September/October due to technical problems, today a medical diversion!

A passenger having a heart attack on board a flight, and the flight making an unscheduled stop to attend to the sick passenger, is NOT an emergency landing.......the title of this thread should be changed.

I disagree. An urgent medical event such as a heart attack necessitates an emergency landing. It happens quite often.

Depends who got the heartattack, if it´s pilot then it´s an emergency landing.

At first I thought it was because of the many problems they have been experiencing with the Rolls Royce engines.

Ditto, but then to hear it was only a medical problem gave me a sigh of relief. (For the aircraft, not a dying passenger.)  flamed

Were there firetrucks lined up near the runway? Were all other air traffic movements suspended? These would be things representative of an emercency landing.
