Cessna Accident @ ACY

Sun Oct 28, 2007 11:57 pm

Didn't get time to post this yesterday, but these folks were lucky.

Apparently, they declared an emergency... tried to land on 4/22... hit so hard that they damaged the right main gear.
The pilot then went around (after bouncing) and landed on the long runway 13/31, hit the ground with the wing and spun out into the grass... amazingly, no injuries!!

Cessan Citations and Atlantic City's airports seem to be bad combinations!

Did that pilot ever lose his license for landing at an airport closed to the aircraft type?

Great video, especially after the engine reignites and the Citation is going around in circles in the water sprouting a roostertail wake of water out the backend like a hydrofoil!

Cessna 182 just came down into the sea in Venezuela too. Captain was known to me (article in Spanish):

It has been reported that the origin country of the pilot and aircraft has issued no disciplinary action or infractions or warnings. No record of the incident is on his pilot's license file. It was also reported that the pilot is extremely wealthy and politically connected in his home country. I cannot verify any of that information.

I don't know if the US can, or has tried, to prevent him from flying the US again.
