SLC sounds right to me as well. Look at how clean the engines are! Try and find a current pic with the engines that clean.

Engines are clean because at the time of the picture, it was a brand new plane. Too bad the tail fin had a nasty paint chip though. But the picture was NOT taken at SLC. Nice try though.

That is SLC. Just looking at the mountain range in the background and the angle of the pic.

If I could see Cheyenne Mountain, I'd nearly say COS.

You guys actually recognize the spot or are you just taking random guesses? At least one person in this thread did correctly identify the location. But I won't say who until someone can affirm their choice as an educated guess as opposed to a random one!

I'll take a stab at it:

1)Looking west from the terminal across from where NW boards. 4 gates there.
2)white peak in background looks a bit like pike's peak
3)green mountains could be front range, though in spring (brown now)
4) USAF academy T-41 taking off from 35L

I KNOW it's RNO.

The picture was taken looking south from a UA gate (probably C5, see the gray tug in the foreground?) DL uses gate B6 at RNO. The snow capped mountain in the background is Mt. Rose, and if you look just in front of the top of the tail you can also see Slide Mountain, where the mountain gave way back in the early 80s. DL had RNO MD-90 ops to/from SLC and from OAK. They may even have had a DFW in there, I can't recall.

How do I know? I grew up there and was a gate agent for QQ at RNO for three years before becoming an F/A.

Also, you can see what looks like a Cessna 172/182 that took off on RNO's GA east-west runway 7/25.

Some comparisons can be made from the following photograph in the database to help further identify the above photo was taken at RNO.

It's very definitely not SLC. Look at the terminal. SLC's terminal doesn't look like that for one. Secondly, DL mainline doesn't use concourse B in SLC. They use C & D only. Concourse B is used by Delta Connection. However, if you search delta.com for flights to and from RNO in the flight status section, you'll notice that Delta DOES use B6 and B4 there, essentially confirming that this is RNO.
