This two reporters are acting like "experts", and obviously they know nothing about airplanes.

Yep, that's correct. You can't see if that was a bad landing influenced by the engine failure from that film. And look at the Presidential Family when they are on they way out - they don't look like they where going to "die" or something - they are acting quite normal.

Im not sure if the plane had an engine failure but it looks like a normal crosswind landing.... the pilot probably didn't bank the plane during the flare because at that moment he didnt feel the wind was getting him out the rwy centerline.....but you can tell he was crabbing during the final app.

I guess If the airplane was in a real emergency, they would have landed at El Palomar or Ezeiza.

If they were in a real emergency they should have landed at the closest airport available no matter what, of course SAEZ is the better one to land at due to their rwys lenghts............. If i had to make a choice for an emegency landing I'd pick SABE instead of SADP for known reasons.

According to the article one of the engines was "overheating" during flight, but then again, we're hearing this from Clarin who are --like most newspapers-- pretty clueless about aviation.

The plane and the engines went through some major inspection in Israel not long ago, right?

Can you elaborate on that? I'm curious. Is it that SABE has better emergency crews?

Sure, sorry for the delay, SABE has in my opinion the best ATC in Argentina, besides their fire tracks are by far the best equipped, also they're trainied very very good regarding emergencies even better than EZE or alternative airports like El palomas or Don Torcuato this is quite ovbious regarding each airport responsability............off topic but the controler who said "vamos 12" (LAPA flight 3412) is one of the few that after an accident is still controlling traffic.

Just my 2c.

C'mon, give the folks some credit. They're journalists, and need news. They've got the landing sequence, too, so they're gonna squeeze it frame by frame to squeeze all the newsness of the sequence they can. Even if nothing really newsworthy happens.  Smile
