After more than three years in the desert at Marana ship 636 is undergoing maintenance at Victorville for onward lease to Kabo Air of Nigeria, seems almost certain that it will do some Hadj-flights for them as thats the main business of the Northern Nigerian carrier. Note that the engines have already been painted blue according to Kabo´s livery.
Lets see if this will be the only ex-NWA Classic Jumbo which will be leased. N636US of 1986 is about 15 years younger than the very early built 742s Kabo Air used to fly and of which not all are flyable anymore.

Perhaps some of the existing B747-200's will provide a useful source of parts.

I think Kabo Air has two active B747's of its own. So, who is the lessor of this aircraft? Is it a temporary lease?

In 2001/02 they even had 6, and as the airline only operates otherwise surplus, old or even very old aircraft, they need to renew their fleet constantly. 2 747s is by far not enough for Nigerian Hadj flights.
