Old Terminal At IND

Fri Nov 09, 2007 1:28 am

I know people have been speculating about what is going to happen to the old IND terminal. most say it will be demolished. well here is mine. I think that the old terminal will be remodeled and used by FedEx for freight to expand at IND.

post your speculations here! ?

35 years of American Trans Air/ATA Airlines, 1973-2008. A great little airline that will not be soon forgotten.

TZTristar500 seems to have a lot of "quick-short answers." You sound very convincing!! Anyway, i think it will be torn down and used by Fed Ex for extra space. There is no need to keep that "shack" up as it is old and dingy.
The next generation of aircraft is just around the corner!

There was a thread about this a couple weeks ago. Or may have been an offshoot of a thread on the renaming of the airport expressway. If you're interested. I had heard through radio or indystar.com or some pseudo-reputable source that they were going to make it a shopping mall, but I doubt that's really true...

I must say I agree with this assessment.
Indy = Indianapolis and not Independence Air

That wouldn't make much sense because it is so close to the airport, not the city. it probably will be demolished.  Sad

I flew through there and found nothing to be that bad.

Anybody know what will happen to the Radisson and Holiday Inn hotels?
You are now free to be sexually harassed and then terminated for filing a complaint--Southwest Airlines to me.

Not sure about the Radisson, but the HI Select has just been re-branded or is in the process of re-branding to a Crowne Plaza. From what I understand they are spending quite a bit on upgrading it.

As far as the old terminal goes, I would expect to see it sit empty for a few years while the city attempts to find a tenant, and then that failing it will meet the wreckers ball.

I can still remember when the concourse for SWA, and UAL was just nothing more than a tin-roofed walkway, and when the NWA concourse was the old TWA and EAL concourse.
