Great list; just a quick note: Mombasa has only one "s".

Bluemoon,
Not anymore I think, as my Dad enquired about this service; it now only leaves LHR with a 777; even that service is due to be axed!

Yup - Malaysia Airlines used to operate 3x week via Munich using the 777-2H6ER but the route became so popular (since Malaysians and Malaysian students make up one of the largest single foreign populations in the Manchester and Yorkshire regions) - the ol'faithful workhorse, the Boeing 747-4H6 has been brought in to fly nonstop.

As I mentioned in another posting - MAS plans to go daily as soon as it can and is pressing the UK govt. for Transatlantic rights for Newark or JFK from Manchester.

Note on the Air Mauritius service:
Change of aircraft/routing in October 2000 to A340-300 via Brussels.
Flights revert back to Non-Stop in April 2001 still with the A340-300, offering increased capacity over the B767.

Fri Aug 25, 2000 7:31 am

Hello,

Jet Setter: tahnk you very much for you complete information!

My local airport is CDG, however I didn't know they operated some flights on to MAN.
Would you know when they started this leg please?
How many weekly flights are there?

Same goes for SIA. I didn't know either!

Well, even though you might not count it since it carries only 4 passengers - and up to 129 tons of Cargo :

Cargolux is serving the route Luxembourg-Manchester-Seattle every wednesday with a B747-400F...

BA flies to JFK daily with a B767-300, they also used to fly to Islamabad but discontinued that service, however PIA flies to Manchester so you left that out. Also Emirates flies daily to Manchester with an A330.

Malaysia Airlines is seeking to increase its presence in Manchester due to an excellent load factor, the route has been very profitable. The route will soon increase to daily.

Cathay Pacific started serving MAN-HKG in 1989, initially via FRA. They first routed flights via CDG is 1992, and have done ever since.

Singapore Airlines started serving MAN-SIN in 1986. The flight initially routed via Istanbul until the early 1990s. Currently they operate via CDG/AMS/ZRH/BOM.

CDG-MAN SQ334 MON 0720/0745 744
MAN-CDG SQ333 MON 0930/1150 744

AFX are expected to start service to JFK soon with 747F aircraft.

I don't even think Air Maldives exists anymore! They were due to fly to MAN (maybe they did fly there briefly, but I don't know).

They flew briefly to LGW, then withdrew and went bankrupt shortly thereafter.

Picard.

Re: Air Maldives

Air Maldives stopped operations June time (I think) to re-schedule the entire airline but up to now they haven't been bought by anyone or haven't finished amending the airline yet.

They originally were going to fly out of Gatwick and Manchester but I don't think they actually started flying out of Manchester at anytime as when they were due to commence operations they decided to re-jig the airline.
