AA Featuring A 787 On Their Website!?

Sun Nov 18, 2007 1:38 am

Hey guys,

I was surfing on AA's website today and found out about this 'hidden' feature.

Being more precise, it's inside the new software AA has to offer: The Deal Finder. They have a demo to explain how the software works and suddenly something like a 787 appears dressed in full AA colours!

Go through this link and press VIEW DEMO NOW. It's located in the 4th section of the video.

It might be just me, but I think it's worth looking at. Could we begin to especulate about this!?  Smile

Cheers!

Yeah I saw that too! But seems like a more stylized 777... at first sight seemed like a 787 though. I'm still waiting for the damn announcement!

Looks like a 772 to me too. Check out the size of the engines and width of the fuselage.

you'll be waiting a while... APA has to get a new contract first. From the looks of the rhetoric in the media, it's gonna be a while...

It looked like an A300 or B767, But, their is not enough dip in the wings connecting to the airframe. If you look at the nose and tail area. That is were it looks like an A300 or A767. Both of which are in service with AA now.

think its quite funny people still don't see the difference between a 777/A300/767

It was 100% sure a 777

Folks, its a nondescript generic airplane made up by someone in marketing... Typical airliners.net nerds reading into things too far.

I agree that it's supposed to be a 777, but the clincher that it's not a 787 are the cockpit windows. The 787 only has four.

When they want to start a silly topic in the forum and get lots of attention from people who hope American will buy the B787.

So you guys don't have to watch the whole video, here's the airplane in question:

It's most definitely a 777. Look at the door configuration, engines, and tailcone. It makes sense that they would feature their flagship in the demo.

As far as AA ordering the 787 goes, it's a matter of "when", not "if".

Bingo! I'm surprised it took someone this long to say it.

You found doors in that thing? The tailcone didn't look very flat either. I either need a better monitor or a better prescription for my glasses!

This thread is a little silly. Why are people wasting time trying to identify the aircraft type of a cartoon airplane? In fact, why am I still here?

Buh-bye!

Just look at the nose. THe 787 has a more distinctive nose.

Totally a 772. Doesn't even look alittle like the 787 (or 767/A300). =)

Ditto on both points.

It's just a cartoon graphic for the general public and I don't believe for the moment they would even know or care what type of aircraft it is. Now that I think about it, it is a composite of all their aircraft types and they only have to add rear jet engines to the rear of the fuselage and they will have incorporated every type they fly.

I'm gonna have to disagree. It doesn't look like a composite of anything, it's clearly a 772.

It's too long to be a 300.
It's too wide to be a 767 or a 787, plus the engines are too big for either.
Looks nothing like a 757.
Doesn't even resemble any of AA's narrowbodies.

Like most people have pointed out that plane is a 777. However during the 787 launch there was clip showing a quick glimpse of the 787 tails with the livery of the airlines which ordered the aircraft. One of them to me looked very much llike a new AA livery with the eagle logo. I do not know if anyone else saw this or have those pictures.
