Frontier Doesn't Serve Reno?

Tue Nov 20, 2007 5:37 am

I hate to start the cliche "Why no AB at XYZ" thread, but this one really stood out to me. I was just looking into an MCO-RNO flight in a couple of weeks and was shocked to find that F9 does not fly to Reno. Does anyone know the reasoning behind this? Is this a station they'll open up when Lynx is fully online? Have they ever served RNO?

F9 did operate to RNO until very recently. It was a poor performer and was dropped. However, with the E170s and Lynx coming online, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of it returning.
Good goes around!

They did, but it didn't work. Loads were okay, yields were not. So they pulled the plug on it last September.

Maybe. But with oil this high, there are probably better yields elsewhere.

A lot of people seem to be leaving Reno - NW did relatively recently too - of course, Reno's population is relatively small, and as a leisure destination probably doesn't have very good loads. Plus it doesn't have all the excitement that LAS has, so I'd imagine it's losing out to Vegas these days.
