Airline Hub In SAV 1991 - 1992

Wed Nov 21, 2007 4:47 pm

Does anyone remember the name of the airline who started
a hub in SAV in 1991 and only lasted a year?
I think they flew to Florida and some Caribbean destinations.
I remember seeing an ex-Eastern plane with the hockey-stick
logo but with the name of this airline on the side.
Anyone have any information or the name of this short
lived start-up?

Key Airlines. They flew 727-200's at first. IIRC, this airline acquired MD80's and then changed its name to National Airlines about 1993 or 1994. It didn't last long after that.

I don't believe this is correct. They flew 727-100. The airline you are referring to is different

World Airways owned Key. A friend of mine told me that every once-in-a-while
something that has "Key Airlines" written on it shows up at World in stock.

They used the counter next to American at BWI if my limited memory serves me
correctly.
