How Is Sky Europe Doing In Vienna?

Sun Nov 25, 2007 3:45 pm

I was wondering if anyone has insight into Sky Europe's operations in Vienna and Prague? It would be especially interesting to see how are they doing at their new VIE base after pulling out of Budapest and Krakow. Passing through VIE I've seen a bunch of their departures on the screen including Austria domestic VIE-INN (several times per day!). Just curious what the LF and yields might be.

The Ryanair guy with the big mouth, claimed Sky Europe isn't going to make it through the winter...

What i´ve heard they're doing great in Vienna, I don´t know about PRG.

Since wintertimetable there are 6 Aircrafts based in VIE and NE plans to base 4 more by March/April next year, altough i must admit that all depends on whats going on now with NE after Karim Makhlouf resigned.....

They do good LF wise, but their profit broke in as far as I understood. Makhlouf resigned due to a dispute with the owners about the strategy. Seems that their capitalisation still is no good. I will fly VIE - INN with them in 2 days, which will be my first time on NE. But I share MOLs scepticissm about that airline.

I've seen no one mentioning this here, but I have heard that Christian Mandl, one of SkyEurope's founders has sold his shares (he pulled out of day to day business a while back) to AUA ! Can anyone confirm ?

Does not bode well for them if one of the founders has lost faith!

If we look on their share price MOL could be right. I think end of the month they need to publish reports and these shareholders selling off right now already have a slight knowledge about the results.
