Help With LAX...question

Wed Nov 28, 2007 7:47 am

I've booked a ticket on Aeroflot between LAX and BEY for December 15th, and it leaves at 6PM.
I will be flying in on a separate ticket from Modesto on United Express, arriving around 2:55.

Is this enough time to claim my bags, transfer terminals, and check in at SU?

Thanks in advance.

Copaair737,

In my experience, 3 hours is usually enough to make this sort of connection. I've had pretty good luck getting bags with UA there. Once you get your bags, you can either walk to the TBIT or, I believe, there is a bus that goes around to the terminals.

Have a great trip!

Probably, if you are not delayed on the UA flight. The UA terminal is down at the south end, and Internatioanl at the West end and a free shuttle will take you around (or you can hoof it but that might take longer). Most flight want you there by 2 hours in advance, and you are just pushing it.

biggest mistake of your life, enjoy  Big grin. Read Superfly's report about Aeroflot.

Three hours should be enough, as long as your flight from Modesto is on time, and Aerflot isnt early to leave.

3 hours should be fine

it only takes about 10 mins to walk between the terminals and yes there is a free bus that continuously circles the LAX terminals every few minutes.

Yes but checkin doesn't close until between 30mins to an hour before departure depending on the airline. It would be a bit of a rush to get thru security etc and be onboard in 30 mins if it was busy (read: most of the time it is). If you are really pushing it due to a late inbound flight you can usually get escorted thru the quick lane at security by groundstaff.
2 hours is the minimum I would book a connecting flight however... 3 hours for most but if the first flight is prone to delays etc then I'd allow more time.
