Royal Brunei 777s No Longer In Schedules

Wed Nov 28, 2007 8:33 am

Hi !

Royal Brunei had 777s scheduled for their LHR-BWN nonstop flight but that is now back to a stop in DXB. Will BI take the 777s or not ? Another delay ?

I suspect that they need the DXB 6th freedom pax in order to make these flights work for them... money wise

Knowing the probs BI were having with their used 777's, it wouldn't surprise me if the issue was still ongoing...

ex N207UA/PP-VRE was painted in full Royal Brunei colours already in april (due V8-RBU), the other aircraft, N208UA/PP-VRF, N767UA/PP-VRI and N770UA/PP-VRJ could also have been flying for them since the summer IF things worked out.
The fact none is flying for them yet months later seems to suggest major problems, financial, technical or both, and that they probably won't go to them at all.
nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

A 777-200ER painted in Royal Brunei colors was in an AA 777 hangar bay at Alliance Airport (Fort Worth, Texas) a couple months ago. Not sure whether or not it is still there.

Hope BR gets them!

Last I heard they were looking for more B767/A320 to fill the void of the 777s that are unlikely to ever join BI due to the fact they have no money and the Sultan of Brunei no longer wants to bail them out.

This is all very odd! Im really surprised there is not someone 'in the know' who can give us more info on what has happened here?

They changed loads of flights from thre 763 over to the 777, only to change them all back again a few weeks later!
But this in itself was months after the first 777 appeared in their livery at Dallas!

How strange! I think this will be one of those great mysteries..!

I think UA could use more 777s with new 777 flights coming up like DEN-LHR and SFO-CAN. It would be great if they went back to UA again.
