It looks to be the case - can't say I'm surprised!

that's not true, i just booked for a flight on Jan 8th, 2008.

And this is their price quote.

Econ Rtn GBP399+tax
Econ+ Rtn GBP459+tax

The Sales Rep told me that their 2nd aircraft will be arriving very soon, and it will bring the services from 2x weekly to 3x weekly, plus starting 1 new destination.

When I was at work, a flightplan had been filed for thier flight this evening, and its still on the East Midlands departure boards, so its deffinatly operating!

From the CAA records (pax loads), they are not doing to badly for a winter start-up!

Cheers

There's no smoke without fire, but there are too many whispers going around to garner any credible information right now.

It's going around that the aircraft had been repossessed by the lessor, but I understood (and I'm sure someone will be able to confirm or correct) the aircraft to be owned outright by UKIA.

Another rumour is that it has been impounded for non-payment of maintenence bills, whilst another is that the aircraft is "very tech" at the moment.

YLWbased, as a precaution, I hope you booked by credit card; you can never be too careful.

And if memory serves me correct, G-CECU was the 4th 767-200 off the line, built in 1983, now with over 77,000 hours on the clock, and is the oldest currently in service; nice to fly on a little nostalgia !

I'd never book a flight with anything else but a credit card, just for my own protection.

If you look on the G-INFO database on the CAA site www.caa.co.uk/ginfo you will see both aircraft show as chartered, ie they are not owned by UKIA

Thanks for the link, but doesn't it say it's owned by UKIA....or am I having a dumb moment?

Did IH003 operate in the end this evening?

It's not showing on EMA's website or Sharjah's or on FlightStats.

The plot thickens.....

This airline seems to be very dodgy to me - selling only through bucket-shops, I personally wouldn't buy a ticket off any airline doing business that way. They could just go up the spout tomorrow and you'd be completely stuck. Are they even IATA ? Do they issue proper tickets ? Do they interline with anyone ? Sounds like another of these "charter pretending to be scheduled" scams.

It's not showing on EMA's website or Sharjah's or on FlightStats.

The Sharjah (SHJ) arrivals and departures board for today (pm 1 Dec 07) shows no arrival or departure info for UKI005 (IH005). EMA and ISB websites currently (pm 1 Dec 07) show it as "delayed".

Logging websites show G-CECU on UKI005 inbound EMA in the early hours of 29 Nov (presumably late running from 28 Nov). It was then logged this morning (1 Dec) as UKI003 at lunchtime climbing to 34,000 ft outbound to SHJ.

So it seems to that it is still heading outbound as a very delayed UKI003 (the ISB website shows a 24 hour delay).

I really don't know.

They definitely do not have any interline arrangements.

One thing to note though, according to Companies House, is that they are 2 months overdue for submitting their accounts.

GCT64 is correct also, in that the schedule is running currently 28 hours behind schedule.

I wonder where airlines like UKIA hire their pilots from, especially now in times of pilot-shortage across the globe.

Ownership Status: Chartered

The ownership status (chartered) means that it is registered to the operator, not the owner. If you look at, for example, BA 747 G-CIVB the ownership status shows as 'owned'.

On the UK Register 'registered owner' can be either the owner or the charterer

Hope that helps

Thanks for clearing that up Mark.  highfive

So who does own G-CECU?

That's just a code, they have to have one. Do they participate in IATA ticketing or clearing house ? Do they publish schedules or fares, do they participate in GDS's ? I suspect not.
