Freedom Air Will Make Its Debut To IND In Feb.

Fri Dec 07, 2007 2:56 am

Freedom Air will be coming to IND in Feb, 2008. It will replace Chautauqua's CVG-IND-JFK-IND, over night and then back to CVG the next morning. What I want to know is why is Freedom Air doing this route and for how long will they be here? Comair has ran this route in the past but Chautauqua has been doing for quite awhile and I thought was doing rather well.

Is F8 using a larger aircraft (a CR9, possibly)? CHQ can't fly larger jets as themselves for any airline because of their scope clause with AA to operate as American Connection...

Barring that, it could just be a reallocation of resources. Happens all the time, doesn't always mean anything...

CHQ couldn't fly larger jets, but what about DL Connection/Shuttle America?

Shuttle America operated IND-JFK for about a 4 week period in 2005, I think, and the loads picked up past the 50 pax mark. But to answer EMB170's question, Freedom Air will be using the ER4 (50-seat) aircraft.

I don't even try to understand the DL regional rotation anymore. BTV switches from OH to F8 like crazy.
