I can't understand why they'd scrap the younger 743 before those old 742s which are probably 10 odd years older, maybe more! I think it may be to do with the 742s being combi versions though.

Are you sure theyÃ‚Â´re scrapping it? I think I read somewhere just recently that it will be back in service soon. PIA seems to have some shortage with the RR engines. And the EU ban meant that they were in no haste to refurbish the plane.
