DL SLC-BOS Question

Fri Dec 14, 2007 5:44 am

I have not flown Delta in over 10 years. I just booked a flight from PHX-SLC-BOS for $169 one way, not a bad deal for christmas time.

The flight from SLC-BOS is on a 757. Will the 757 have in seat TV like jetBlue? I know some of their 757's have this option and I hope this one does since I have been spoiled with jetBlue. Flight info below.

Delta 1471 Salt Lake City (SLC) 5:12pm Boston (BOS) 11:36pm

Thanks,
Eric

What date are you flying? The three I checked around christmas has the ex -song 757 with the TVs. Looks like you have a really good chance.

Looks like for this flight, yes it will have the PTV configured 757s.

As I was told before if there are 7 rows in F class on the seat map when you booked then you have a PTV. From my understanding the regular DL 752's had PTV's installed with the new DL IFE. The Song jets already have the new IFE system which replaced the old Song IFE's.

Here's my trip report RNO-SLC-DCA. On the SLC-DCA portion I had the Ex-Song 757 as you can see

I am flying Sat. December 22.

Nice pictures, thanks! The IFE looks a little better than jetBlue. Does Delta plan on putting this on all planes?

They plan on putting it on select 737s, 757s and 767s. The international 767-300 ERs won't get it due to the fact that the weight of the system would cut down on the range (and the 763s are going to be doing some long routes like ATL-LOS and JFK-TLV), while the MD-80/90s aren't going to get it due to the fact that they're pretty short-haul equipment (not many routes where there is more than 2 hours of flight time). It's be mostly the transcons that get the upgrade to live TV, but it would be expensive to put it into all 400+ mainline planes.

I thought it was suppose to go on all 757's when it is all said and done? Although I think your right because I kept hearing them saying that it will go on 100 757's.

Eric-

Yes, the 752 for DL1471 on 12/22 is indeed equipped with AVOD.

Good Luck
