Virgin America Publicly Traded?

Fri Dec 14, 2007 10:28 pm

Does anyone know, is Virgin America publicly traded yet? If so, I was wondering how their stock was performing and what is their symbol??

Thought it was a private company... but most all airline stocks are in the tank right now.

If that's the case, do you know when they are planning to go public?

I've heard no talk of them going public...they are owned by a private investment group.......and by Virgin Group... they may never go public. Why ask....?? Airline stocks are very risky-poor investments

Might be risky however one can make large sum's of money by successfully picking upward or downward moving companies.
So I would not term them 'poor' investments, but I'd instead consider them one of the best potential industries to invest in for the shear movement potential of stocks in short term periods.

I'll beg to differ. I've done very-very well with my Fortune 50 compines over the last few years. In fact one of my holdings just did a 2-1 stock split last week.. and it's now trading $10 above the split price. So in a week my holdings have doubled and gone up $10 per share. Oh yea.. and dividens are due for pay out soon.

Good enjoy the Fortune 50 stocks.

For me, I've always been able to far outpace more traditional ~20% growth in my 401K's or Mutual Funds by actively trading airline industry securities to the point of exceeding my base earnings by a few multiples. So to me they are far from 'poor' investments as you term them.

Maybe.. But if you buy low, it has great potential. Look at Allegiant, I am kicking myself for not buying when they came out. US was another rocker when they went up to like $80 per share. Another one I kick myself over. As for long term investments, I would agree with you on the risk.
