Reconnecting Thru DFW Customs

Mon Dec 17, 2007 11:09 pm

Here's a question for frequent DFW users. My stepdaughters from MEX are visiting us in Reno, flying AA MEX-DFW-RNO. I see that Customs is in Terminal D. I assume there is a bag re-check outside Customs. What happens after that is kind of hard to tell from the fuzzy diagrams on the DFW website. So how do passengers get from Customs to connecting domestic flights?

Thanks very much for any help.

Shouldn't be too difficult. Once they clear customs and recheck their bags, they can hop on the Skylink trains to change terminals if needed. It is normally just about 5 minutes to get to Terminal A or C.

Depending on where their flight is departing from, it's really easy. I've made hour connections having to go through customs. It's a lot easier than having to walk the ENTIRE distance of Terminal A. After you make it past customs and recheck your bags, you'll go back up an escalator that comes out outside security, really near a checkpoint. It's easiest just to jump back in the security line, get through, then take the Skylink around to the desired terminal.

DFW (home airport) is a breeze to connect through now that they've got the SkyLink train.
Should be no problem.

I am pretty sure once she steps out of customs and dumps her bag in the connecting flights belt she will see signs pointing to either exit or to the other terminals…and yeah getting around DFW in the new Skylink is pretty fast and easy
