Anyone know the dB levels for non-curfew times at LGB?

All of the UPS DC-8 have been hush-kitted and upgraded to 70 status. They make no more noise than a
B737-300 or so with the CFM 56 engines
Cargo doesn't whine, moan, or complain

It's probably easier to just point you to the Airport Noise Compatiblity Ordinance than try to explain it -- especially since I don't really understand the full impact of the CNEL / SENEL budgets, etc.

Though If I had to give a 1-sentance answer, I _think_ from 7 AM to 10 PM on 30/12 is 101.5 SENEL dBA on arrival, and 102.5 SENEL dBA on departures

(One of the 18 noise monitors is located almost directly across the street from my dad's place. It's fun to visit when they're doing reversed ops -- you can wave to the arriving B6 pax  Smile )

Or maybe TWO 737s (with the 4 engines)?

This is completely normal to have a UPS DC-8 in Long Beach this time of year and noise is not an issue. Every year UPS will operate a third flight here at LGB as package loads are up. Sometimes it's a 767 or 757 or even a DC-8 (my favorite), nothing unusual.
