Favorite Version Of The 737 And 747?

Fri Sep 01, 2000 7:46 pm

My favorite 737 would have to be the -700. I've only flown it and the -200 (7 was Alaska, 2 was Southwest). The -700 was newer, obviously, and looked quite nice. It also seemed rather quiet (especially compared to the -200).
My favorite 747 is definitely the -100... I loved those swirly stairs and the small homely upper decks that sometimes even had lounges. I've seen the upper deck of a -200 but I never got to see the upper deck lounges. Oh well!

I actually like the 737-500. It is compact, quite comfortable given its small size, and looks really good in both UA and CO colors.

The 747-400 has got to be my favorite version of this venerable workhorse.

My favorite 737s are the 100 and 200 series because its the original version. Thats what the engineers at Boeing intended that plane to look like. I also like them because they are very loud and sounds like a rocket explosion. This summer I flown on Aloha Airlines 737-200 between Honolulu and Hilo and I liked it a lot.

My favorite 747 is the 100 series because again, its the original design of the 747. I also like them because they have the three window patteren upstairs a lounge with swivel chairs. The lounges usually had deep-shag carpeting and earth-tone colors. Sometimes they would have wallpaper with a Hawaiian sunset or palm trees. That was so '70s and I think that is so classy.

I love the 737-700. It's powerful, yet quite.
