The N2135 project was killed due to a lack of funding. During the economic crisis, IPTN (the Indonesian aircraft manufacturing company, which has recently been renamed) was labeled by IMF officials, dominated by Europeans and fellow Americans (surprise, surprise), as government waste. They assumption was that it is an aircraft nobody would ever buy, so there was no need to produce it (and extra competition for Airbus and Boeing) while the country was in such disrepair.
Right now, it can be considered dead. However, the expected scrapping of IPTN ended up not happening. The company still produces aircraft and aircraft parts, including some for European and American manufacturers. It is undergoing privitization and restructuring, so, if there is actually a need for a new single aisle when they are back on their feet, it is a possibility.
You can get info at the iptn website, as well as N2135 screensavers. I have a feeling this project will be a top priority once Indonesia begins to realize its economic potentials again.
