Thanks for the info, I also heard about the Cargolifter solution.
The Cargolifter will be a gigantic blimp. I think the first one will be around by 2003.
"The first generation of CargoLifters, the CL160s, are intended to carry payloads of up to 160 tonnes - that is as much as about 27 full-grown African elephants - at a speed of 80 to 100 km/h and a maximum height of 2,000 meters non-stop over several thousand kilometers." (from the Cargolifter website)
They are currently constructing the production hangar near Berlin, which will be the largest free-standing hangar in the world. It has enough space for 14 Boeing 747's!
