I think you have National mixed up with Capital, Cody.
Other than that, ONA was a lot like World, Tower, Arrow, Rich, and ATA. They lived and breathed off Military Airlift Command contract work. That was their primary MO. However, freed-up airframes took on charter work to, as Cody said, just about anywhere.
If I'm not mistaken, ONA and Capital DID merge in the early 1980s and flew some scheduled routes. One that I know of was ORD--MIA (about 1983 or so) and it was an '8.
