Fairchild Dornier Axes 428JET (Now Official)

Thu Sep 14, 2000 2:30 am

Its now official. Fairchild has recently announced that it is to terminate the 428JET programme despite orders from carriers including: ACA, Skyway and KLM Alps (Air Egedina). This now confirms the post which Jeremiah Teahan post some weeks back. (BTW, where did you hear that from ?). Despite the cessation of the programme the production of the 728JET and 928JET is to continue. Fairchild has stated that the market has changed in recent times and that the 428JET has more overlap with existing successful products
Correct me if i'm wrong, but weren't they supposed to be building a new facility to produce the 428JET ?
