Just flew on the new 717 of Impulse (VQ) in Australia. Beautiful aircraft. Service was fantastic too.
Any opinions?

Not enough leg-room. No meal. Nothing to do.
Worst flight ever.If we had crashed it would have been an improvement.

wow what are you on
Impulse is a low cost airline therefore there is no meal. You would have known this when you booked the ticket. The flight is only over a hour long so very no really for a sound system but would be nice. It is good to see airlines offering cheap airfares to Australia.

I have flown on an Impulse Beech 1900D to Cooma from SYD. Very basic service, however the price of the flights was right and the staff are exceptionally friendly. The great thing about this turbo props flight is that the new "tall" ones can fly at a higher altitude than all other tp's so the flights are so smooth.

I have heard nothing but good things about Impulse's flights. The 717 is exceptionally quiet and smooth. And again the fa's have a lovely reputation. Who is going to complain about being in a brand new plane for an hour @ a cost of $66 AUD ($40 USD)? Take a book or magazine if it's problem.

VH-EAA,

Have you actually flown VQ?

Not enough legroom? Certainly more than on QF, with QF's lousy 30-31". Impulse has a min of 32".

No meal? Do you call what you get on QF a meal? As opposed to a snack? QF Domestic is already quite bare, especially in comparison to AN. On VQ you get tea & biscuits.

"If we had crashed it would have been an improvement" - It really is quite a childish response, you wonder why there are so many complaints as to why the "younger" members reduce quality of posts. I sense a troll.

Impulse is a welcome addition to the Aussie aviation scene. They provide an excellent product, certainly for the price, and minus the "meals" on the larger carriers.

Troll!?!?!?!?!?

Well pardon me skystar!

yes I have flown VQ from SYD-MEL.
Now I fly business class, on the ads, the seats look as big as qantas business domestic, When I got onboard the impulse flight were the seats as big as they were on TV?, no.

And that little comment about me being a troll! well, now whos being childish. But the most childish thing of all is your agist remarks. how dare you imply that I cannot express my dissapointment at inflight service just because i am not as old as you!

believe me, i have heared worse from adults on this site.

Anyone who can't cope without someone to get them a drink and something to eat for an hour and a bit is in desperate need of some time on the couch with a professional. I won't begin to tell you what that's a textbook case of.

I have to say I was more ed of when I flew AN (A$477 later) BNE-SYD and got an unripe, finger banana and a single cup of coffee with no milk available, thankyou very much..... Oh yes, as I've said before on this forum, the seat was the least comfortable I've every flown in. Except on meal time flights the service domestically is so minimal you'd hardly notice the difference.

So far I've only flown Impulse's 1900D services, and I thought it was great that you get the same level of service on those as on a 717!

Personally, I thought it was better to be able to make your own coffee or tea before the flight (the way you like it - and with real milk too!), and to get a newspaper (though reading one on a 1900D is NOT easy!).

I consider Impulse's "inflight service" to be just fine!!!

vh-eaa,
I take note of your opinions, but are they really anything of real criticism? Impulse has made a note to say it has legroom of 32" as a minimum. They never mention business class. If you think from an advertisement that you are getting business class seat pitch for $66 to Melbourne or Brisbane, then go start an airline because it's impossible.
I have to say I didn't care about no meal. Who needs to wait for a piece of toast and dated orange juice as I have had with both AN and QF. And travelling at the last minute cost me $278 back in April with them! I doubt bread as inflated that much!
As far as I can see, reduced price, great service, and more legroom than the competitors economy class certainly won me. What else did you want vh-eaa, a corporate jet? Stick to your 767 of QF for all we care.
