The New National

So what can any one say about the new National Airlines out of Las Vegas. Are they making it? What is the average load factor?

I haven't flown them myself, but I hear people like the service and the airline claims to be profitable already. I read in an article somewhere that the CEO claims to have load factors consistently above break-even. Break even being about 60-65%. I hope they start service to BOS soon.

National is well on it's way to changin the standars of trans-continental travel! Have you haerd about the service yet? Wow! Fresh-baked cookies, warm-friendly flight attendants, good food, served on china!!!
I would say that National Airlines is going to be a 2000s success story. They'll continue to have excellelent profits and load factor, and they'll grow at a good rate. They'll expand oth east and west. They'll win pax from New England and Califronia who want to go on a nice Vegas vacation.

I hope they make it! I will fly them someday!!!

I've flown National many times on the SFO-LAS-SFO run. Nothing but good experiences. The planes are clean, the ground staff is uniformly friendly and professional and you get the sense that they are on the upswing. They are always cheaper than United and it's nice to fly the 757 on such a short hop.
On my last LAS-SFO flight (about a month ago) I got to LAS only to discover a 3 hour ATC delay due to fog and low clouds at SFO. What else is new? National handled the situation superbly. They distributed meal coupons in an orderly way and gave us updates every 15 minutes, even if there was no updated information. After about 45 minutes I decided to try to switch my flight to the next morning (I had my laptop and could work from a hotel room). The agent was very helpful (even after dealing with over 100 frustrated pax) and agreed to waive the $50 fee and put me on the first flight out the next morning at no additional charge.
I wouldn't expect this every time but this is the kind of service that breeds loyalty...mine at least.
Give National a try, you'll go back for more.

I think National will do well - they've got some good ideas that will help, like buying second hand 757s (not too new, not too old, and the right size for transcontinental flights), adding one new route at a time ( I think it's also a good sign they were awarded the chance to fly to O'Hare and National Airports - those slots seem to have only been given to airlines that have a good chance of staying around for a while!), and the smart deals with hotels and casinos in Las Vegas.

I wish National all the best (though I'd still prefer the SunKing on the tail!!), and I'm betting we'll see them celebrating a tenth birthday (for starters..)

My Mom is going to fly PHL-LAS-SFO-LAS-PHL in Oct. on National. I believe that they will do superb with those casinos owning a stake in them. I was looking in the newspaper, and saw PHL-LAS with a 2-night stay at the Rio(Is that how you spell it???) for $326. Now that is a deal.

National is great! I flew them SFO-LAS-SFO and we were served fresh baked sugar cookies and donuts. They also gave me a full can of Sprite. The planes were clean! I was on one of their brand new was only like 2 months old. I flew 546NA and 757NA.

National had the perfect concept- putting their hub in LAS (a great spot for a hub) and expanding to the 4 corners of the country. My Dad flew PHL-LAS-SFO-LAS-PHL, a couple of months ago with them and loved it, evn though he's a US Chairman's Preferred, he thought it ruled

I've NEVER heard a negative comment about them.

I travelled with National in May to LAS from SFO. I had an older ex British aircraft, and while a bit tired looking inside it was very clean and the FAs were very pleasent.
The meal was great and better than any US domestic airline I had before except for Midwest Express.
I don't visit the USA very often but if I get the chance, I will go out of my way to go with National again.
