Hi,

How many 747's does UPS operate? Do you think they'll order any 744's or 747X's?

12 74-100's 1 is an SR
4 74-200's
2 74-200's that are leased and soon to be bought. These are in UPS livery.

China routes should be announced within the next couple of weeks.

I have heard alot of rumours on aircraft purchases.

The one that looks good is an order for 10 744 f's with an option for 10 more along with some 767-300f's
I heard that Boeing was going to lease us some MD-11 freighters in the meantime.
Also heard that Boeing wants UPS to be the launch customer for the 777 freighter. This would coincide with the MD-11 lease since it would be a couple of years till the 777 freighter could be delivered.

These are just rumours flying around

Note that N691UP, a 747-121SF, is the only 747 still in service that was delivered in 1969. I hope it stays with UPS for another 10 years! (at least)

UPS never has or never will operate the 707. What you may have seen was a DC-8. UPS has 49 70 series 8's all equipped with upgraded instumentation along with the CFM engines.
