To Readers Of "Airliner World" In Canada

Thu Sep 28, 2000 10:29 am

When I was in London, England this summer I bought the September edition of Airliner World in mid August.

Now that I am back in Canada, more specifically Toronto, and it is almost the end of September I still haven't seen the October issue. I looked at Chapters and SmithBooks. Does anyone know when it will come out and/or where I can buy it.

Thanks in advance.

The October issue went on sale in the UK on the 13 September - you can usually expect to add on at least 13 days for it be on the shelfs in Canada.
Copies are usually on sale in Chapters and the other major chains.
For further details contact the current local distributor, Gordan and Gotch, 905 669 2368.

As from the December issue, the distributor will change to LMPI, tel 514 355 5610

Depends what you want out of the magazine. If you like lots of colour pictures and articles on civil aviation alone, then Airliner World is very good.

If you're more into the Airline Business and figures, plus other types of a/c then Flight is better (especially for the Job hunters)

Well said Capt Picard.
Flight Int's is for guys with business interests.
Airliner World is for us enthusiasts. I particularly like the airport features, something you don't find everywhere.
More interesting is the fact that we can contribute with our pictures and share views and ideas. Another nice thing is the centre pages "poster" if you will. This can be detatched without spoiling the magazine as the reverse sides contain only ads.
What I'd like to see are some articles about the inner workings of airlines, like what alliances really are etc. Although even this was covered in the recent one about the AZ/KL "divorce". Something on those lines anyway.
Keep it up KeyMags and give us more of the same.

Doesn't Flight Intl. also have military articles? Also, it seems thinner than Airliner World.

Hi Jugoslovenski Aerotransport

Yes, that's what I meant in my previous post about "other a/c". FI briefly covers news from the entire aerospace industry, so milis, general aviation, space, etc. It is thinner, but it's the No.1 for aerospace appointments (jobs), if you're looking for that airline sponsorship, or direct entry pilots, this is for you.

Many pilots also read Airliner World etc. though, not just spotters.

One thing I have to admit though, is that I get bored of watching planes after a while now. Before, i could spend all day at an airport. Not anymore!
