PAN AM

if pan am were still around today what do you think would be like TODAY? i think it might look like this:

737-200
737-300
737-500
757-200
767-200
767-300
777-200IGW
747-200
747-400
DC-10-30
with these planes on order:
737-800
737-700
737-600
767-400

somewhat similar to the current united fleet. Also if pan am was still around where do you think would be their main hubs? Also was pan am strong in latin america? Also do you think pan am would have had a new livery by now?

They liked Airbuses. I don't think so that they would have only Boeings in their fleet.
Pan Am was flying everywhere, event to devils butt.

Pan Am definitly would have Airbuses in their fleet. Their hubs would still be MIA, JFK, FRA, etc. Pan Am was VERY big in South America...those routes were cash cows for them until they had to sell them to UA, AA, etc. Pan Am would have had a new livery by now. Everyone has had a change of livery, with the exception of Southworst.

Let's pretend we are at the point when Delta set Pan Am free because the losses were too much. At that point they flew to Miami from just a few US cities and Latin America and the Carribean. So starting from that point, if some magic investor came along, I'd say they would have tried to expand in Miami to most major US cities to keep Latin America going. They also would have retained the London route to Miami. There would be no need for the 747's so the fleet would be 727-200's and A300/A310's. If they finally turned a profit maybe they would have ordered the A320 or 757 for a 727 replacement. I think that's where we'd be right now. Pan Am's purchase of National gave them a very inefficient route system that concentrated on the sunbelt and made little sense for European connections.

Pan Am IS still around today operating very few flights and they still have the same livery! They operate mostly 727s.
